4wd, 5speed, 4 cylinder 22RE engine. Just under 103,000 miles.

Story I got was it spent most of its life on a ranch/deer lease so it has a few bumps and bruises but low mileage.

I purchased it a few months ago and did the brakes, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, battery, complete a/c system (compressor, condenser, expander, expansion valve, etc) along with belts, pulleys, hoses, valve adjust, etc.

It starts right up and runs well. I’d planned to keep as an extra vehicle when the kids start driving, but oldest is into horses and I need something more suited to towing.

$4800

Thanks.

Yes, in Katy.

And sorry but I didn't realize an old friend might be interested in the truck for his property so I'm going to hang onto it for a couple of weeks until I see him. Thanks.

**Updated - now asking $2000 OBO

Friend got some 4 wheelers so didn't need this.

I'm glad I put this on hold for a couple of reasons. I hate stories when buying something but want to be transparent here:

Issue 1 - The Title. The truck had a clean Texas title from 2008 when I bought it earlier this year. When I posted this ad I'd paid the taxes, done the paperwork and expected the title in the mail any day. Still don't have the title as it was held up in the DMV system on August 22nd because it was braded as "Rebuilt" in Louisiana back in the year 2000.

In 2008 Texas did not have a national database like they do today, so it got a clean Texas title in that transfer. When doing the transfer in 2019 that history came up and I guess it will now be branded a "Rebuilt" vehicle. I'm not sure of the cause for the Rebuilt title. DMV told me to expect it in the mail soon. I do have all the title transfer documents showing I own and can legally operate the vehicle.

Issue 2 - The Engine. I've put about 600 miles on the truck since I posted this ad. In the last 50 or so miles, it developed a small oil leak from what looks like the rear main seal. In the last 20 miles that leak became severe. Yesterday it also began smoking from the exhaust. Not what I'd expect from a pretty low mileage Toyota, so very disappointing. Compression tests look like it's probably rings on #2 and #3 cylinder, so plan on an engine rebuild soon.

The truck still runs and drives. It has inspection good thru July 2020. Brakes and suspension are good, it tracks straight down the highway at 70 mph with no vibrations. The transmission shifts are nice and tight. It may run this way for years if you don't mind adding oil. Rebuild kits are readily available for the 22RE engine.

Like I mentioned most of the ancillary engine parts have been gone through and replaced. The top end of the engine and timing chain look good. Figure $1500-2000 for a quality rebuild and you'd have a nice little truck. If this truck suited my needs I'd probably spend the money and do it, but I'm already into it for about $6K with all the new parts and just need to move on.

Anyway, thanks for listening. I'm glad these issues came to light prior to a sale...I've learned a few things and can sleep better this way.

This is a deal. I've wanted back in a little Toyota 4x4 for awhile.

If only my wife would get a job
