Sold: '98 R1100GS 25K miles $3,500 (and 5 other bikes) Leander Tx

I'm reluctantly selling my 1998 R1100GS which is in excellent condition due to an impending move out of state. Side cases included, elf pegs on the jugs, driving lights on a mounting bar, and an Aeroflow windshield (full with lowers) on the front. I'm also including a Givi Monokey trunk mounting bracket (since it's installed already) but keeping the trunk for another bike. This has been a great bike, and if you're a Ride Texas reader, you've probably seen it in the magazine (I've write a quarterly gear column for several years).

Runs great, tons of tread on the tires, no issues except the front master cylinder needs to be honed and the rubber piston insert replaced. Front brake works fine, you just have to push the lever back out with your fingers as it doesn't return. I have all the parts but no time to attend to it, house

sale details take priority. I've been riding it (and avoiding the fix) for a couple years now!

Thanks, it's a nice bike and I hate to sell it, but I don't want to ship it when we move.

ABS works fine, just rode it down to be inspected yesterday and it did the usual test / enable sequence. The problem is just the master cylinder is likely pitted (again) and needs a bit of honing and the new rubber seal applied so it doesn't slow-leak and bind up. I did this about 10 years ago (time flies) and it was fine for a really long time.

No heated grips on this bike, sorry. Easy enough to add if you need to with 3rd party heaters.

Well, I have 15K+ in it, which means nothing of course. Why don't you PM me and we'll talk it over.

I have hagerty insurance and they have a value tool based on recent sales ranging from $7K to $36,300. I'm probably in the "Good" category which is $13,200. I'd say that's probably about right, or maybe a bit high given their definition and what I've seen them go for.

Nice herd of bikes in your stable. I have a “wanted” ad on here for a XR250 but would consider your SS. Shoot me a price and see if can make a deal. Had a KLR 250 but sold it and now wished I had it back.

I like the the GS and RSL, but have a $6500 dollar Uhaul bill along with $2000 in travel expenses. So household6 suspended buying motorcycle privileges. GLWS.
