Haven't seen this phenomenon. Are you sure they don't have some clever, small mirror setup somewhere in the body work or such? Knowing you a bit on the forum, you're usually pretty observant, and I'd doubt you'd miss that. Still, you and I are old guys who aren't up to what all the "hot dog guy" youngsters are up to...and you're a dirt guy primarily, so what do you know about sportbikes?
No I'm not SURE, I didn't go looking real close. But if there, they'll very well hidden. A guy looking at them with me was in agreement. Plus 1 fast dude had a road race front with no lights. Guess without inspections anymore, guys are getting braver. Doug seems to say they run without them.

Heck I've considered putting a mirror on it.Eh, you've had your head buried in the dirt(y riding) for years.
Until you're stopped, waiting on a light to change, and someone driving a 3/4 ton truck is texting while coming your way from behind.

That is the beauty of the fold-in mirrors like Double-Takes and such. Rob when you're riding in the east Texas forest and such by yourself it's not a big deal, but riding with others or if you have a dual sport where you have to jump out on the pavement occasionally, it's a huge plus which I know you already know. Being able to glance back and see if your riding buddy(s) are still there or are closing on you is quite useful. No doubt when I ride on tight singletrack out at the Concho Enduro club ranch, the mirror is folded for obvious reasons. Riding out west or a place like Big Bend even in the rougher areas, the mirror isn't a problem when left up...and if a cactus or such slaps the mirror, unless you have the tension knob cranked down way too tight, it will move instead of break.
Not a problem at all. He has rear view mirrors controlled by a gyro and level sensor to react instantly to the attitude of the truck no matter what the hydraulics are doing. Simple.Now that we have an explanation for lack of mirrors on sport bikes, can somebody please explain this phenomenon?
And they're the reason I don't wave to other bikers. On the whole, if they're giving riders a bad name, they're not my comrades.
If you had mirrors that were truly usable, you'd have noticed those cops chasing you, you were telling us about last month at 9ers.It started as a aero, and weight item long ago. Smaller , and better options for in the tucked position. However many of your 250,300,500 CC kids cant afford a good micro mirror. I've been using bar end mirrors for 20 plus years. CRG , and a friend makes custom mirrors for my hyper bikes. There are mirrors on the Hayabusa .

Often removing stock mirrors cleans up rider felt air on sport bikes.
