Sunset, class, and new lens

Went to Brushy Creek Park with a friend today, got a few pics before I had to tuck the camera away from the rain.

Brushy Creek Lake Park at Parmer and Brushy Creek road? Or another park closer to you? If the former, you were in my hood. I'd have given you a place to get out of the rain.

Yep, have never been over that way before. Nice park and a ton of nice walking trails.

My sweet nephews! I had the hardest time getting a photo of them in focus because they are constant motion!

Does your camera have a 'continuous focus' setting of some type where once you lock on, the camera stays with it? You might want to look into that for these types of shots.

The wooded section between the ball fields and the YMCA in Cedar Park is an especially target-rich environment. I need to go get some pictures of the historic railroad tressel with pink granite blocks underneath dating to the construction of the capitol.

Very nice shots! My fav's are the cropped one of Mark working on the bike, the shrooms and the goose. The kid photos are also good. Keep shooting, you have something good going.

After the discussion today ... here is the Goose with no crop so you can see more room for him to move to the left of the frame.

Re: wandering ...

And a few more ...

Flash on the single blossom one? Just assuming that based on the shadow. You can cut back on that by telling the flash to be a stop or two under powered. Then you get the lighting effect, but it cuts down on the sharp shadows. If you didn't use the flash then that was the sun and you either live with it or use a diffuser to screen out the sun.

Nice set of pictures between those last two posts. Mushroom was my favorite.

Thanks, no flash ... just bright sunlight. I was wandering around at about 3:30 or 4:00 and could have waited until later in the afternoon.

Got the camera as low to the ground as I could for the mushroom which brought in a little more light from around the stem.

good on getting down low. Perspective can really change!

Roses

This afternoon's project ... flowers, white and black foam board, overhead light, and on-camera flash.

We met my sister-in-law at Berry Springs Park and Reserve in Georgetown today. She is doing photos of Emily for me to use in her graduation announcements. It was a beautiful day, but of course too much sun in many areas. I really want to go back another day close to sunset. Such a nice park with trails, a wildflower area, small pond, spillway with water running under a walkway. There are even old buildings and donkeys :-)

Here are a few of my pictures from today ...

I bought a polarizing filter to assist with the bright sunlight and went out to explore on this beautiful Easter Sunday. I captured some flowers and critters ... not much editing other than cropping and resizing.

Happy Easter!

Very nice. On sunny days, a polarizer is your best friend, I leave mine on almost constantly in bright sunshine.
