Today Mark found a butterfly coming out of its chrysallis on one of the plants we bought. I took about 20 shots () trying to get the light and angles just right ...

I think it is a Gulf Fritillary ...

Great capture. There must be a hatch, they are all over one of our trees.
I enjoyed the wild seed hunting ride with Mr. Gravel today. He knows his plant life.

I decided to experiment with the water coming out of the springs. It isn't that attractive ... a pipe with water running onto some rocks and then into the pond. I tried to get the water without the pipe.

Looking across the water and over the pond ... sun getting low over the trees.

Looking the opposite direction, setting sun to my back ... pecan trees in the background

South Texas Botanical Gardens

We visited the Botanical Gardens in Corpus this morning after attending a Cross Country race with Mason. More to come ... this little guy is cute!
