The weather turned to magnificent in Mississippi today! Upon my Triumph the closest star set upon her and did shine through!

I enjoyed a few hundred miles of glory today!

The weather here in S.E. Texas was stunning as well.
These are indeed awesome days to ride.
How’s the new scooter going?
Any ride impressions/tall tails to report?

I am very happy with it. I think it really is "peak modern retro." It is not fast by fast standards and it does not have razor sharp handling, but for what it is, man is it something. I also find its sound and looks intoxicating.

We have so few twisty roads in central Mississippi so I have not really got to see how that will go. That will have to wait a little while longer until I move back to Texas and get it on roads like the Twisted Sisters :)

There is utterly NO storage space. Even under the seat there is none, not even for the manual. I am going to get a tail bag. For now, I rigged a little bicycle bag that velcros around the seat strap. At least I can carry a bottle of water, a rag and sunglasses case. Looks aside, and the fact that it says "Huffy," it works just fine.

Mississippi has one of the lowest per capita number of bike riders. (it is also the poorest state) and it is Harley Country or extended swing arm drag bikes with neon lights. I have had a few "Triumph, I did not know they still made those?" (even though there is a Triumph dealer in my Metro) I had one guy searching for the term "cafe racer" (which it is technically not) and call it a "coffee racer." (ha!)

Even with all the torque and power of the 1200 twin, I feel like there is a touch of a spot between 2500 and 3000 grand, where you want to shift but it just isnt there yet. Cruising at city street speeds it sometimes feels like you have to pick a gear with the revs being too high or too low.....but it is subtle. I am sure most might not notice and it just might be me.

It is mostly smooth as can be. Fit and finish seem fantastic.

I get more comments on my brown Perfecto style jacket and the shifter patches on my Stylmartin Boots. That seems to get peoples attention.

People often want to know how I have all the time to ride during weekdays. Life is good when you are the occasional movie star and Mississippi's ugliest trophy husband. :)

I think you need to make a quick trip to Vicksburg and give us a few shots of the mighty Mississippi. Is it still high?

I do not know. I just returned for 5 days of wonderful in NOLA, and was in the Quarter. So I have been around the Mississippi a lot, but I have no idea if it can be very "high" from upstream, that close to sea level.

I have a plan for tomorrow but it is all over central Mississippi. I am 59 miles from my door to the Mississippi in Vicksburg. Hmmmm, maybe one day next week. I enjoy Casinos and those are the closest....but the smokers/smoke smell is more than I can take sometimes.

Nice bike! Throw some saddlebags on it for storage! I am loving my new Triumph as well. Unfortunately I keep trying to turn it into a dualsport! Lol!

Any plans for a windscreen? Or are you ok at HWY speeds? I just ordered a Puig up /down 2193W... we'll see how that works.

A skip, jump, and a hop. (Hop skip and a jump)
Your right about those casinos. Was in the only one in texas at eagle pass for work and saw one of those smoke vending machines, $10 per pack. Not interested.

Highway speeds suck. Standard riding position, little frontal area. Above 70 can get old. I did an hour on the Interstate today over 70. While it is survivable, I would rather find back roads, go slower and take longer than blasting down the highway in the wind. I am also a tad over 6 foot. It has me in the wind pretty good. 50-60 is the sweet spot. Roads where you can run those speeds are going to be part of my plan with this thing. I did about 300 miles today. The seat gets a little thin as well but I also have a good case of flat butt that does not help.

This thing is fantastic for two lane moderate speeds and running around town, being cool.

I really do not want to alter the look. So, I will not put a screen on it. It is better to recognize what it is and if you want to do some distance, get a bike for that.

I feel the same about altering the look, but as I just got the Scrambler, I'm stuck with it for awhile. You are absolutely right about 50-60 being a sweet spot. At about 65 all **** breaks loose! I love the Scrambler and will spend as much time on back roads and gravel/dirt as I can. But being that I can only have one bike for the moment, I'm going to try a windscreen.

I like the bronze patina the exhaust pipes are turning.

Means you are running some fuel and air through it.

The bike looks great. Gosh it's making wish I'd grab an RE Himalayan, as it is styled similarly.

haha....'coffee racer', I think you should keep the term.

Have fun today on the roads. I'm up w coffee now and I plan to get in a little ride before Sunday traffic wakes up.

So a new report.

It finally warmed up a bit and I decided to wear a perforated race leather. My hypothesis was it would make riding at highway speeds less wind impacted. I have been riding around in a Perfecto style jacket. While somewhat form fitting, it does balloon up a bit.

My perforated leathers are thick, heavy, very form fitting and flow well. Of course they also do not puff up. They also really do help with cooling when you are moving.

It worked. Hypothesis confirmed. It made interstate speeds much more tolerable.

On my way to Dallas. (I am appearing at Texas Frightmare in support of one of my Movies). The Mississippi at Vicksburg. Yep. She is high.

I saw this pic tonight. The River is high. This is in NOLA. You can see the street car below the River level. They are going to open the spillway. The first time in history it has been opened twice in the same year.
