Top 50 BBQ Tour

I ate at Goldees (the current number 1 according to Texas Monthly) a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty dang good. The fact that they make everything there is amazing. All the sides are made from scratch. The bread is baked there. Even the Jalapeños are pickled in house.

It’s maybe a 30 minute drive from my house and the guy I went with got there at 7:45. I arrived at 8:40. He was number 11 in line. Everyone brings a lawn chair and then puts it in their car at 10:30ish. They have water and a couple of porta-potties for the folks in line.

The restaurant has 8 tables with 6 chairs per table. They opened right at 11:00 and they let in a few folks at a time.

I will try and add photos, but the forum software usually screws them up.
