I like the fishing pictures with the boys ignoring the cameras. To tell a story, and those do, is difficult but rewarding.
The one I thought was a great essay was the one on cowboys that won a Pulitzer for a Dallas Times Herald photog. It showed the modern use of helicopters for roundup along with old school tools like ropes and cutting horses. The story was the roundup and the photos led you all along the timeline.
Unfortunately I can't Google examples because it was about 1982 and pre-Google days no longer exist.
