Sat: oct 9th
We made it to Davey Crockett National Forest Ratcliffe lake recreational area. It's 9:37 pm now, I'm laying in my tent as my huge steak dinner settles in also, man doesn't get any better than this. No rain flap cool breeze and the sound of Forest creatures moving around, very peaceful.
This cabin here is in Eustace TX. I think that's the town.
We lucked out by asking park ranger to help us find a site. All the FFS were gone! Ranger said no problem we have site 51 for just this reason. Wow! Thank you Ma'am.

Looks like a fun time. The pyramid on the back of the Suzuki looked really impressive until I figured out the top 3rd was actually a rider in the background.
Still impressive packing jobs nonetheless, not y’alls first rodeo obviously .

LOL That's not ours it belongs to the ranger station. Its were the keep a golf cart. 😀 The were nice enough to let us camp in this closed spot because all others were taken.

Up this morning 🌄 coffee and Oatmeal done and now working on today's Forest road routes. After last night's dinner I'm sure glad I l left my rain fly off! Wew 😳😂

Day 2 was a great ride throughout the the Forest roads. We even found another camping spot. Alabama Creek Wild life Management Area. Today's ride covered about every kind of surfaces known to man! 😳😜 Yes including sand! What is it about traveling South East and getting more sand roads. Oh well no issues and a lot of fun! Time to get Dinner going. I'm thinking Fajita and Sausage tonight while I'm listening to the wind blowing throughout the tree canopy. Hopefully we did a good check for widow maker hangers! 😳😜

Packed and ready to head out tomorrow morning to Davey Crockett National Forest Ratcliffe lake recreational area.

Holy crap Tharunner, you packed and leaving the country, for good? I need to ride/camp with you, I won't need to bring anything but socks and underwear :-D.
Looked like a good time and cool places, I marked those two spots in my East Texas map. I was thinking this morning about that area, future ride etc. Take Care!!

Last day here at Ratcliffe lake. Two good camping trips out here and I have no complaints. Able to cover more Forest roads and find another potential camping spot. Last night's storms were pretty intense. I've been in a tent more than a few times during a storm but for some reason I still get a little uncomfortable. After climbing out of my tent this morning looking around I thought, I'm getting pretty good at looking for over hanging widow makers or just lucky I guess. 😳😜😂

I normally don't take two tents, but I knew there was a big chance for bad weather. Sure enough it go pretty rough last night but me and gear stayed dry.

Made it back home around 5:30 today. Even though I really enjoyed Davey Crockett National Forest area and a big plus on finding Alabama Creek Wild life Management Area,
it feels good to be home. Always remember no matter were you ride or camp, be respectful to property owners and always leave it cleaner than you found it!

Made it out to Kerrville Schrinners park around 6:30 tonight. Set up tent and fired up the magic steak box. The ride down here was a little rough. That North West wind was trying to beat me down. After dinner I attempted to get a fire 🔥 going but no such luck. So I finished my beer and slipped onto bed.
See you all tomorrow morning!
Goodnight
Gator

GOOD MORNING TO ALL MY TWO WHEELED TEXANS!
ANOTHER MOTORCYCLE CAMPING TRIP IN THE BOOKS.

I don't recall who created the route we rode Saturday but I want to thank you for a great ride. As I'm sitting here preparing to break camp after finishing my coffee I'm thankful 🙏 to my Lord for giving me another glorious day. Now the time has arrived to pack up and head home. My feelings are mixed but I know Lord willing and the creeks don't rise you will see me again! God bless

Until then!
Keep the fire 🔥 going and the beer cold I'll be in soon!

Gator!

Made it home around 3:30 pm today. Tha Mule turned 12 today! That's 12,250 miles! So I thought I'd treat her to a few glamor shots at two places I just couldn't pass up on the way home.

TEAT DAY 3
Finally get an opportunity to post this motorcycle camping trip. After a few long days with sketchy cell service, broken pannier bracket
3313596818266573513.jpg
6542637181200677110.jpg

and trying to finish 200 mile plus days in fall before sun sets on your camp has-been very challenging. But here we are day 3 sitting by the camp fire at Garner State Park.
20211119_193022.jpg

Day: 1 Maypearl to Regency Bridge.

Day: 2 Regency to Masson.
Day: 3 Masson to Garner State park.
20211119_071244.jpg
20211119_071356.jpg

Day 3 most definitely the hardest but most epic ride so far! Only 155 miles with average of 25 - 30 mph. We crossed Double Ford river,
20211117_152929.jpg
James x2 and Sandy Creek x2. Several slab crossings, to many cattle guards to even count and for the first time a few push gates too.
Here's a few more pics from Masson to Garner State park.

Made it home Tuesday 4:15 on the 7th day out. Total miles was 1,800. The number don't look like much but believe me it was! 70% of this ride was gravel, rock, red dirt, back roads, ranch roads.
