Unusual/rare motorcycles you'd like to have.

Mine was a CL70...$300. I paid half, my Dad paid half.

The Dreer Norton was a dream...I had my down payment saved up for the cheap one, and was shocked when they went legs up. Why couldn't Harley or Buell buy them and make it happen?

As far as pure moto lust goes...

I can't find any better pictures of this Spondon framed CBX from Cycle World's American flyer series. It's just beautiful.

OMG...

Can't believe I forgot about the NAS. Especially since it's a SuperHawk motor in a dead sexy frame...and that's a great motor!

Well, I had one of these.... old-school bad*****....

1976 Laverda 1000 3CL (Jota)

Fastest bike in the world for a while..

Others have already hit on three of my favorites, the NAS, RC45 and the resurrected Norton. So, I'll toss in a new one. This is one of the new Roland Sands designed 450 mono racers. The idea is to have a largely 450 MXer based bike, but with full bodywork and roadracing suspension and rolling gear. Perfect for the budding road racer and club racer, IMO. Took this at Laguna last month:

Not unusual but a little rare. I don't want to purchase the whole bike just the engine and transmission, I'll do the rest. The finest engine ever built,

1965 Panhead

Very cool! Is the frame MX-based as well?

I believe so. The idea is to have as much based off existing platforms as possible to reduce cost and fit into as many spec-model racing categories as possible. They are supposedly trying to drum up support for a spec series class with AMA too.

These look like some serious 2-wheeled fun. Chinese minibike porn. :trust:

It'd be cool to plate these and use them for commuting.

Chinese mini-trials...

That pipe looks a little vulnerable. :yikes:

Does this count as a motorcycle? Has 2 wheels! And hubless, at that!

If money were no object and there was more than one, The V8. Moto Guzzi’s 500cc, four-stroke, water cooled, twin double overhead camshaft, 12000 rpm roadracing V8. From the 50's.

It is a shame so many of the image links have gone bad, but there are still a lot of really cool bikes here. Anyone got any they want to add to the list?

Man...quite a few decade or more old threads are getting resurrected, and I like it. Some of these might have been covered in the dead image links, but here are some of mine:

I’ll probably think of more, but thanks a good starter.

Yeah, I have been poking through the General forum from WAY back just cruising looking for threads that were fun back then. I figure they might be fun now and we've got a lot of different folks now that weren't around back then.

I'm kind of partial to Moto Guzzi's... this one is mine! '03 V11 LeMans. Don't know how rare it is but they are a rare sight & it sure is pretty.

But the one I'd really like to have is pretty rare... a 1000S but in the green frame & paint scheme version. Sharp!
