Weekly Joe Fink Memorial BBQ lunch

Sorry to hear this Joe, prayers your way for sure. John texted earlier but I did not get the text until this morning. Keep me updated.

Did you go over the top or dead stop into the side of the truck?

I have the 2 aux lights on mine all clear though with the modulator on the headlight, I was thinking about amber for the lower ones but you said you had that.

This is just before Joe gets loaded in the helicopter

Joe, Mary Ellen said to say hello and you are in our prayers.

This hospital food is pretty good. Lot better than the last time I was in here. But not as good as the iola BBQ.
Can't wait to we're back in Iola, I'll even take the day off!! Glad you still have a little humor!!!!

Was anyone riding with Joe or did some of you come upon the incident in the aftermath?

No one left with him @iddave came up on it. Rest of us were unaware anything happened. Seems like he wasn't very far from us either.

I came up on the accident a few minutes after it happened.
Where others with you when you came up on it Dave? Or was it a bit later others left and happened upon the incident?

I was the only person from the lunch at the scene that I know of . There was a physical therapist guy talking to Joe and doing what he could to help Joe then a traveling EMT came up with his bag and took over . Mostly folks were standing around waiting on the county EMT to show up. County EMT and sheriff deputy showed up , air ambulance was called . After helicopter left I talked to Deputy his opinion was it was clearly the trucks fault. Never saw any statements taken from witnesses. Deputy told me there was no need to hang around . DPS had not arrived when I left.

Thanks for the update Dave.

He has good humor at times but this was Bad accident, he will be out several months just getting to where he can function somewhat normal.

For some reason this "Watched" thread is no longer notifying me of new posts.

So, I miss a lunch at Murphys, and am just now catching up all the reports on Dirtryder's misfortune.

Joe, best wishes and I hope all goes smoothly to get you back on the road soon.

I’m still hanging in here.

I think you've beaten my personal high score of 15 screws and one plate.

Um, er, congratulations?

Glad to see your spirits are high enough to be keeping us entertained. :thumb:
