Jeep is alleged to be ready on Tuesday, so hopefully I can make it so. In the meantime, Jimmy the scab and I put the Rekluse in the DR650. Got it installed and set up, and then found where Gouged MR Clutch Case about a 1/16 of an inch and we were spewing oil out. If you're gonna be stupid, you got to be tough. So, I pulled it back apart and sure enough, the thing is ruined. I am sure I can JB Weld a smooth spot and get it to seal or RTV it into oblivion, but it would hurt me to do that. So I sent Ron Ayers $320.00 for a new case and gasket. Then, after I install it, I will give you guys a review of the Rekluse clutch. For the record, after 16k miles my clutch was at new spec on all the plates and such. The springs were good as well, so if I don't use the Rekluse, I have an excellent stocker to put back in. We shall see. I will probably get the Jeep back before I finish the DR650. Love me some motorcycle mechanic-ing.

Went to breakfast, with Zonie and Onewolf, at Chisholms in Godley. Enjoyed hanging with the fellas and decided to check on the Jeep on the long way home.
She is painted and they should have it all ready to go tomorrow. The only thing he didn't paint was the windshield frame. After looking at it, I am leaving off the stripes down the sides and we will go with the Jeep and Sahara decals up front and the Wrangler decals in back. Pretty excited to see her finished.

. I know he was using A1s paint booth so that probably explains why it's in A1s parking lot

Roger at Alpha and Omega does all the work in Jason's shop now a days. He is a stickler. Love the work, came out great. I am limping a little, but considering I put on half a tub and a fender with almost a complete repaint, I am more than happy. Now I have about $14k into my $5k jeep. Seems par for the course. So basically I put 2/3 of my available motorcycle money on hand into her today. To be fair, she is almost perfect, I left off the factory stripes and got rid of the color matched running boards. Looks way better. She runs perfectly, need to do the rear main at the next oil change, now I will start changing bushings and painting black things underneath. Love my YJ, looks like a keeper unless someone wants to give me $20k. By the way the A/C was hacking it in 104° F heat in traffic, water temp stayed steady at 190°F. She is a runner and blast to drive. Got to be careful to remember it is a jeep, and as the song goes, "These boots are made for walking". So we need to get her dirty soon.

What year is that? I had a red 89 I bought new for $9000 and change. Drove it to Wyoming and back from Iowa, no A/C so ran without the doors. Had a lot of fun with it.
When my son was real young, a friend and I went out driving around in the Jeep, took him with us. We were exploring dirt roads and got to a steep hill. It had been raining just enough it was real slimy. We got about 3/4 up the hill and traction disappeared. I commented it looked like we were stuck and weren't going any further. Looked in the rearview and his eyes were huge, he thought we were stuck for good I think. Good memories.

1995 Wrangler Sahara YJ. She is pretty well preserved, I just decided to fix all the little rust spots for a zillion dollars. She has 108k miles, I have put a little over 3k on her since I have had her. Now I need to paint the frame pieces and change some bushings, finally I need to replace the rear main seal. I have new fuel lines to install as well. She is pretty much in very good condition, I just need to play with her now and get some use out of her. I am happy the A/C didn't let me down today even with the soft top. Loves me some Jeep.
Hopefully the parts for the DR650 will be here soon and I can play with that as well.

Well, today, I was out there working and it is almost too hot. I can't get it much below 90 degrees. Now I know that is pretty good when it is 104 outside, but I am going to upgrade. I had a fella from the AC company come out and he is giving me an estimate for a 5 ton system in the shop. I also have to either upgrade my panel or add a panel to power the bohemoth. Looking forward to upgrading in the next week or two, depending on how much it will cost. Woo Hoo!

Well, the living room would be fine, except it doesn't have any tools, lighting or bike lifts, not to mention no 220v outlet for the welders. So, that doesn't work.
So far I have enjoyed not operating a reactor post retirement. I think the 24 hour day of keeping it running would spoil the fun, but it would be a nice toy.
Mrs. Pee Paw is pretty laid back, but she would probably get mad if I fired one up inside the house, we kind of like the whole breathing thing.
I guess, in the grand scheme of things, I can be a little hot, or I can spend a little money and improve what I should have improved on the front end. I was a lot tighter with the budget back then (2017) so now there is more value to me to install the better A/C than to be hot. I got lots of detailing on Mr. Jeep to do and I don't really want to get too sweaty. Interesting fact, the 3 ton A/C unit moves about 1200 CFM and the new one will do over 2k. Should be very nice. The electrical will make it a little more expensive as my box is maxxed out, but I will get it all done. Hopefully in the next two weeks or so. Then PPSS will definitely be Shangri-la
"Cool", a new "Shop AC" christening party at PPSS... Dibs on one of the rocking chairs...
We will be bringing a side dish...
