Hi I'm a fifteen year old and I'm trying to get my first dirt bike but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for in my first bike and I was wondering if someone can help me

If you're looking at used honda crf 230/250f.
If you can get new honda crf300f.
Get a texas off road sticker.
Closest legal riding areas are trophy club , twin hills in Bridgeport. More info out there but that will get you going.

I agree on the CRF 250f, getting cheaper, real good beginner bike, dead reliable, very low maintenance, I have seen vids of folks really haulin on them. The best way to go if it were possible would ride a 80 or 100cc bike for a a dozen hours then get the bigger bike. And safety gear! you simply can 't wear too much gear. Helmet, boots are a must, in my world knee pads have been one of the best, I damaged two sets back when riding hare scrambles but knee cap came out bruised but not damaged.

Welcome to the site!

What you want to do with the bike has a lot to do with which bike you might want... Are you looking to ride single track trails, do MX tracks (all the jumps and stuff), or eventually even ride on the street? There isn't really one do it all bike. If you are just looking for a bike to learn how to ride, I suggest anything small, like a Honda 150/250 four stroke or something similar. Make sure it has a clutch so you can learn how to use that. IF there is one available anywhere near you, an MSF dirt bike class would be a great idea.

I'm looking for something under about 5,000 and I wanna be able to ride it one the road

I’d suggest a dual sport in the 250/300cc range. At 15 yo, you can get a MC license and ride it to the trails or run dirt roads. Otherwise, you will need someone old enough with a truck or trailer cart you and the bike around to either pay to ride location, or the national forest unless your family has private land to ride on

I'm about like 4 foot 3 inches 110 pounds
Alright, 4'3" is going to be a challenge for sure. Most of the smaller dual sport bikes like the XR150 and such, still need someone to be in the 5', maybe 5'2" range to be able to touch the ground safely. At 4'3" you might want to look into something like a Honda Grom or Dax. Those are about as low as they get and still be street legal. I would suggest getting to a local Honda dealer that has those in stock at least just to throw a leg over and see if those are something that might fit. The good news is at 110lbs, they will still have lots of pep to get around town on. So that is no worry at all on that front.
