Any bottle of co2 will put out fires , there no rule saying it has to be a fire ext . Thats whats in my house and several in the shop if its a outside fire I have dry chemical ext s . But most likely a outside fire will be let burn out of a garden hose . Most of my extinguishers came from a auction , I bought a pallet fell of big ones for 10 bucks , got several 25 pound CO2 out of that deal .

Good idea
In my panic, I hope I grab the argon or C25 and not the oxygen or acetlyne. The latter maybe counterproductive

I’ll still keep eyes out for big CO2 extinguisher

I was in the huge lighting dimmer room at Universal Studios Orlando long ago, and it was a Halon protected room.
If you were in there and fire broke out, they said you would go very quickly in the Halon.

There are supposed to be large, visible warning tags on the walls.
 
BACK TO WORK!!

I cleaned up the mess from the (short-lived) fire, cleaned the carbs & re-installed them, swapped out the modern/mismatched front blinkers for the originals, installed a petcock and fuel line with filter, and gave it ONE CHANCE to start up instantly. It didn't.

Oh well, at least it's clean and I'll sort it out this weekend.

Now back to the rolling parts bike - mostly '95 T-Bird.

I had already re-assembled the blown engine, taking care to remove the timing chain in case the future owner hits the starter button for whatever reason. I also left the drive chain off in case it accidentally gets put in gear (so the engine cant turn over) So, it was time to install it in the rolling parts bike's chassis...

It's pretty rough. It'll need the engine rebuilt, a set of carbs, gas tank dent pulled, seat re-covered, muffler mounts, meters rebuilt, a headlight, a tail light lens, and a set of spark plug leads, AT LEAST, to be a running/rideable bike. The rest is details and cosmetics (sidecovers). I have a set of rear turn signals, forgot to install them...

I have been intending to build a shed roof with leftovers from the barndo for THREE YEARS.

(mainly the 20+ extra sheets of white R-panel 22' long)

Day before yesterday, I did something about it.

Well, it started with a "false start" when I punched it out to the ranch to hitch up my 6-bike trailer that I use for hauling large/long materials, then found out when I called Metal Mart at 4:30 to let them know I was on my way, and they told me "we close at 4:30". Well, heck. So I spent the night at the ranch, and made the rounds Yesterday.

First stop - Marble Falls - Mueller Metals for some 4" purlins - tied down with double bike tie-downs, wrapped.

Second stop - Lowe's across the highway for (10) 60# sacks of Sakrete (ooh, my aching back) in the bed of the truck.

Third stop - Metal Mart in Burnet for the 4" receivers and 1-1/2" rectangular pipe, double tied down.

At the ranch, I had to take down one section of fencing, then open the gate on the other end and move some stray stuff to pass through after un-hitching. I had about 2" clear on each rear-view mirror...

I've got a huge sack of sheet metal screws, should be MORE than enough (famous last words?)...

The high end of the roof will go just over the blue container on the right, with 3 pipe columns along the length.

There will be a second row of 3 pipe columns along the length of the white trailer, then a 3rd row of 3 columns on the other side of the trailer, with a 2' overhang on the low side. I'll install another gutter on the low side with a single rain barrel; that'll make 7 barrels total.

This roof will be the spot for my tractor, mower deck, and box blade to finally come out of the sun and rain. It will double as protection for the white trailer that is deteriorating, and no longer has a cheap plastic cap on the skylight (3rd one in 3 years).

I guess the fun starts this weekend; I need to pull the mower deck off the tractor and hook up the post hole digger...

I bought some R panel galvanized a month ago. Wow it was expensive. I think about 2.50 a foot. Great you had the left over from your metal building.

Yeah, that was a fair stack of cash about to start rusting away!

I still have some heavy steel that I'll really have to scratch my head to figure out what to do with...

I only have one long 4x4 piece of heavy tube, everything else is short pieces. Only scraps of R panels will be left, plus some odd flashing & downspout.

In fact, I'm having to cut open some downspout to make a gutter from...
