It's been a year and a half since I tried buying something from them. I can't seem to get through. They just don't want to deal. Today, I was interested in a brand new 2023 KLR 650. Yes there is a discount but when they try to add $1,000 back in fees, that discount vanishes. They have 2 2023s, 17(!) 2024s, and 10 2025s, you'd think they'd be interested in selling. Apparently not. I'm done with them.

I was just in Los Angeles. Every bike had ADM, Additional Dealer Mark-up, even used bikes. This new 2023 Gold Wing had $4,500 additional dealer Mark-up in addition to TT&L, dealer prep and freight. They had a used bike that a friend was interested in. The price was $4,999. With additions it was nearly $7,500. He laughed when he saw the OTD price.

Pretty dumb!

And people wonder why online sales are a such booming business . I did buy a couple motorcycles from locals in the 80s , all out of town since . Last new bike I bought I called the dealer to see what he had and told him to prep it and picked it up on the way to Arkansas .

I have had great purchase experiences from Wild West . My go to salesman at Wild West passed away several years ago and so when I was looking to buy another new bike I had to pick a new salesman the results was a satisfactory deal . I got bike for a price I could live with and he made a sale .

On another thought about fees did the person who was looking for a dealership with no fees ever post what dealer he used ?

"Well, I found a dealer in TX that charged zero crate and assembly and is selling me the Z500 for less than $7k otd! I’ll be picking it up this coming Tuesday!"

In late June I was shopping for a mid sized commuter and narrowed it down to Vstrom, a V85tt or a R9T that were all 2023's that had been marked down from their MSRP.

Wild West had a 2023 V85tt listed on their web site as on sale (like $1,500 off MSRP) so I showed up to buy it on a Saturday afternoon after doing a test ride on a v85tt at full throttle (they would not sell their's without a 25% apr loan). I walked in the door and told the sales person I was there to buy the 2023 v85 and they told me that unit was still in the back in the crate and they would not un-crate it. I ask if it was not for sale and was told they had too much to do to waste their time on a $10k vehicle.

That next Tuesday I rode home on my new vstrom from Stubb's.

I don't always spend $25k on a bike, but when I do it will not be at Wild West.

Edit: They finally got it out of the box. The discount is gone though. LOL

I've used Wild West for a long time . Bought my 2023 BMW R1250RS ( ordered it through WW ) . Paid just the $ 650 BMW freight fee / prep .
Loan was through my credit union . My neighbor just bought a 2023 Honda 300 Rally at cost plus TTL .
Another Friend bought his 2023 GS1250 Trophy 2500 off MSRP after a test ride / demo day . Summer of 2023 so it was not a last years model .

People forget these places are in business to make money not break even . Do you give stuff away at your place of work ?

Every retail business has a point of diminishing return. If a company can raise prices and increase profit, good business sense says to raise prices. At some point the increase in price will lower sales until total profit starts to decrease. Back up a little and total profit will theoretically be maximized. Wild West has been in business for a long time. They must be doing something right.

I recently ran into that while shopping for a new BMW R1250RS. One DFW dealer, that I've done a lot of business with, offered a $1000 discount then added $1000 of silly fees back into the deal. A second DFW dealer was simply making up numbers like double dipping on shipping.

I went to Memphis to celebrate my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Out of curiosity, I checked to see if Memphis has a BMW dealer. They do and they had the bike I was looking for. I negotiated a deal that was over $2000 less than the best deal I could get in DFW and brought the bike home. Happy Birthday to me!

P.S., I will list my lovely, but now redundant, R1200RS in the For Sale section tomorrow after I get some daylight pictures.

So your friend buys a leftover 2023 Honda CRF300L Rally at cost plus TTL but it's okay I had to pay an extra $1,000 in bs fees for a leftover 2023 KLR 650? And you ask me if I give away stuff at my work place? Sheesh! Where do you get off?

ya that does sound a bit off . I should of read a little more carefully

I bought a couple of 2024 PCX 160 scooters at Honda of Houston recently. I shopped around for the best price.

One of the dealers I went to was Wild West. The salesman asked me Honda of Houston's price and I told him.

He told me that I was lying and that he couldn't even sale me a 2023 model for that price.

I was in HOH today and they have new 2024 CT125's for $4300 OTD.

They also have Grom's marked down.

Rodrigo runs a very different shop from what Wild West does. Much friendlier and much better prices, in my experience.

Stopped in at WW today for a parts pick up . I spoke to Roy Worthy in sales who heads the sales team and showed him this threads comments .
He did ask how to contact the original poster. Recommended creating a profile to send a pm or reply here . Guess we will see what becomes of it .
Also Roy said he would show it to upper management

You seem quite invested in this.
