Oh..... 'bout a year ago. ;-)

I like the first one with the railroad tracks. Not sure I'm totally sold on the blurred perimeter, but I like the composition/contents.

Is that just an uber-wide f/stop, like 1.4 or post-processing for the blur?

Yes, and also a wet lens... wiped it down as much as possible (photo 1).

like comp and subject. just a little too soft for my taste.

can't decided if it's a weird angle shot or something tipped over

like the white snow in contrast to the colors. The foreground blurred bits seem to detract, rather than add to the comp for me. I like the stark crispness of the objects in the background and how the snow adds to that. I think the blurred foreground branches would be better if they didn't so heavily "frame" the subject.
