Putting my RT up for sale. Plans change and going to be adding something smaller to the stable once we get to Arkansas. This is a great motorcycle but I am trying to thin the herd a bit.

Here are the basics:

BMW R1200RT
Year: 2015
Mileage: 27,523 as of 7/1/26
Tires: Good, but I will throw in a new set that is on my rack
Extras:
Russel Day Long Heated Saddle
Mo Tech Tank bag
New battery
Rear trunk - the trunk is silver and not color matched to the bike
Also have an additional Werks windshield I will throw in, never got around to trying it

The spot on the front of the bag is not a chip, just a reflection. The small areas that look like chips above that on that same bag are where the added plastic clear coat film that was added for protection from wondering feet has lifted slightly from doing it's job.

And now for the only bad thing about the bike. Actually not bad, just me being a dolt and messing up. I currently only have the emergency key. I pulled the bike out of the shop and was just going to run it for a bit as I try to do if they are not ridden for a while. Well I laid the key fob on the seat and piddled with a few other things and then decided it was nice enough to go for a quick loop and I had time. Geared up, jumped on and ran a 20 mile loop. Noticed as I was coming up to a stop near home that the key light had came on. Knew instantly what I had done. Also knew the approximate area that the key had fallen off. Did an extensive search but did not find it.

So that brings us to pricing.

If anyone wants any additional photos of anything let me know. I will only be in Texas another 4 to 6 weeks.

Couple of "key" questions!
Any idea of what is involved in getting a key?
And are the keys in stock?

Think I serviced this RT for him about 18 months ago .

I've always wanted 1 of these or the big GS. I don't REALLY need a bike this big, need something smaller to be able to deal with it now. But this sure is tempting.

Peer pressure mode - (aka somebody buy it before I succumb to temptation)

I’ve seen this bike at an RTE, it is a fantastic looking bike in a fabulous color.

While the bike pix look good, it is 500% better looking in person. Think Palo Duro sunset pics vs real thing.

I can verify BMW keys are easily gotten with proof of ownership. I got keys for K1300 and GSA from Wild West. Showed proof of ownership -think it was insurance card, and ~5 days later had the key,

I must resist going to motorcycle ergos to see how my knee would work
 
Oh your knees would be great I'm guessing.

This is a great motorcycle, I just want something different for where we are moving.

The key is not hard to get. Just the 2 hours I don't have right now.

And yes, Brian, you did service it not to long ago.

Sorry, I did not answer you directly earlier. The key is not hard just takes time since I am a couple of hours from a BMW dealer. They have to order it specifically for the bike from my understanding. It is the leave it in your pocket fob which is why it is so expensive.

The service that Brian performed on it was the 24k mile service. Shameful I have not put more miles on it since that was done. But, life throws a curve ball and we adapt.

Those tires I mentioned I would throw in are Michelin Road 6 Tires, not cheap. I'm sure someone here needs this bike. If I end up taking it to Arkansas it will put me in the poor house keeping tires on it.
 
Last price drop on this. If no one buys it I will just take it to Arkansas with me. Kind of thinking I should just keep it anyway at this point. It is a great motorcycle.

It is the dark burgundy with metallic in it, not black like it looks in photos. Here are a couple more photos. The top box has one spot on the grey that the paint is cracking. Don't know of any other issues other than the key.

I had a 2015 RT. Lovely bike to ride up to the RMR next month for someone like I did with mine 2 years ago. What are yall waiting for?
 
Withdrawn from sale -The bike is headed to Arkansas with me. I can think of worse things.
