I have not heard one bad thing about these T700s. My son Chad rode a friends T700 when he went on MexTrek and called me and said "dad you have to get this bike"

I have been looking for something to replace my KTM 500 and this looks like it.

I went on the Yamaha website and clicked (check inventory) five dealers popped up from Dallas to Victoria. The first four I called did not have one even though the website said they did, some even laughed when I asked if they had one. When I called the fifth dealer in Victoria, Velocity Powersports, the salesman - Zach said they just got one in 5 minutes ago and he was fixing to post it up. Hold it for me I said and I put up a $500 deposit and went down two days later and picked it up.
This is totally foreign to me. I had not sat on one or even ridden one and here I am buying one. I have started ordering farkles yesterday and appreciate the info in this thread.

Autocorrect strikes again. It was supposed to say top heavy. I'd not be worried about the weight, just that it's all the way up on top.

I've never sat on one either, but keep hearing good things about them. I'm not lining up to trade in my Africa Twin, but it's certainly an interesting bike.

Congratulations! You stole that right out of my backyard...

QUOTE "Congratulations! You stole that right out of my backyard..."

If I got lucky on that it will be the first time in my life to get lucky for sure.

It's crazy when we buy stuff like that. I just bought an electric mountain bike the same way. I guess we have youtube reviews and such.
Lots of trust.

Even with the Camel tank not enough fuel?

I believe I'll be going the big tank route myself once they surface in the flesh. Acerbis also has one on its way that is around 6 gallons.

Did you get one, I haven't seen any pictures yet
Hey Brian,
yes I did. I bought it in March from Ross Motorsports in Lufkin. 1700 miles so far, I just added the Tusk pannier rack and luggage rack. Adding a engine guard this weekend. I’ll be riding it at the HC 500 next week. I sold the 690 and S10.

Way to go Danny. Congrats.🎉

Woohoo ! Dan and Mark. You guys are set!

Dan, I'm glad I didn't find that at Velocity, been in there on a few occasions and they even did warranty work on the Strom. Great story. I fear I would have made a expensive mistake. 😂😭.

Oh hey I think I know whose T7 he rode. Shame he didn't try it on the highway

;)

Also, has anyone mucked with their suspension settings? I swear I can't get a handle on a good setting. I've tried going to "standard", but it seems like bike just shakes constantly on anything more than gravel. Usually end up going softer, but the forks still feel like they're constantly pogo-ing

I’ve got all my accessories installed and ready for the Hill Country 500.
1. Dirtracks crash guard - 200.00
2. Tusk panniers and top plate - 225.00
3, Tusk heat shield - 20.00
4.ACD skid plate - 185.00
Luggage - Nelson Rigg Commuter Touring Pack. Nelson Rigg soft bags.

The first farkles have been installed: Tusk pannier rack and top rack. The racks and hardware weighed 14.8 lbs. No discernable difference in the handling. I really like the way that parallel twin sounds, just makes me smile. I am ready to meet everyone at the Hill Country 500 next week.

My suspension has been reworked by Suspension 101.
