Youth Riding Locations

I am in the south side of Houston. I have a relatively new 9yr old rider on a CRF110. I will be on a CRF100 on the trails with him.

What are some of the friendlier private parks to ride within 1-1.5 hrs of town. I am thinking day use (not subscription). Would SHNF be good for younger riders? (I realize may be closer with the shutdown).

Bluebonnet in Caldwell, TX ( is probably a bit far for you) and Freedom MX in Baytown are a couple of favorites for my daughter and I

You might check Sterling ranch near Willis.
https://www.sterlingranchatv.com/ it is about same distance as SHNF but better for new rider in my opinion. There is some easy trails and some open areas to practice in. The big advantage is you are never far from the parking area.
