My Father's Day celebrations won't happen until later in the day on Sunday, so I've got clearance to go for a little ride in the morning.

Here's the plan. Feel free to join in you can.

Meet at:
Quick Trip South Ft Worth, 1187 @ I35W
https://goo.gl/maps/TyjucZpxRjC2

Ride some curvy-ish pavement to The Smokestack in Thurber
https://trips.furkot.com/ts/5FIkdK

Arrive at approximately 9:30 and chow down.

Get home before the worst of the heat.

Kickstands up at 7am. Breakfast service ends at 10:30. The route I have planned is about 2.5 hours.

Join you at Thorp Springs 0800.

Normally, yes.
Last time I was by there, they had the whole place torn up remodelling.

In reevaluating your route, how about the Shell station at 51/567 at 0800?

I can never remember, isn’t that the place that some snowflake claims has “bad” butter?

 I hope not. (or is this an inside joke that I'm missing? :) )

I've passed by it hundreds of times over the years but have never stopped.
Looking forward finally trying it.

Here's the GPX and Garmin files. If you want TomTom or CoPilot let me know and I can email them to you. TWT isn't letting me upload those file types.

A word of caution: I'm still learning to use the Furkot routing website, so double check the files on your nav unit before using. Accuracy cannot be guaranteed! ;)

EDIT:

twtex doesn't support all the file types, so sharing via a Google Drive folder. Let me know if this doesn't work for you.

Yes ... inside joke. :brainsnap

Interested. Need to settle a few details, but I'd say I'm likely at this point. I'll confirm as we get closer.

The butter is beyond bad. I'll be eating at Cracker Barrel with Jared Mees after after he wins the OKC Mile. Real butter there.

Yes, where we will turn off of 4 onto Lakeview drive, north of Santo

I’m a budduh snob. I don’t remember any stinkin budduh.

Great choice, pm. I think their breakfasts are primo.
We’ll meet y’all at the stack.

You do realize that the smokestack is north of I20 ... :eek2:

It's not often I get over to the good side of the tracks.
