I just today discovered this forum. It was in a website link of Spencer Moto Care, strangely. Since I am a new owner of a Yamaha FJR1300AE, I am shopping for a seat-height-reduction job. Yes, I am a shorty, with an inseam of 29 inches. I will offer no more of my manly physical dimensions. LOL.

I live in San Marcos, Texas, and I ride cycles. That is an understatement of a sort, since I have been riding since July 1947. That happens to be the year of my 14th birthday. So in that month, Texas issued me a motorcycle license, and I have been riding ever since.

It is fun to make new cycling friends after lo, these 61 (yikes) years. I plan to do just that. I have entered lots of stuff in my personal profile on here, so feel free to 'check me out'.

Welcome! :welcome:

You're going to be asked sooner than later...you got pics of your bike?

You should hop on that thing and head to Huntsville to join us tomorrow ;-) Check the Upcoming Rides/Trips/Events section for details on the Burger Bash. It's just a morning cruise on that thing :-P

Scott, thanks for the invitation. I have a nasty little secret to share with you now, via this pic, taken just this afternoon. NO, it was NOT a cycle accident either! Please know that it will heal; and I will want to join you guys. Okay?

No problem, drive the car :-P We won't hassle you one bit ;-)

Let me take a rain check on this invitation. I DO want to join you guys. Speaking of rain checks, check out this trio (my brother on the left, my wife in the middle, and Moi on the right. We were at Daytona Bike Week, 2 weeks ago, when it started to rain. The Kawasaki ROK hospitality tent folk came prepared for us and rain. LOL.

Welcome to the site.

You need to tell a little something about the Cushman in your photo album.

Welcome to the site.

You need to tell a little something about the Cushman in your photo album.

Hemibee, thanks for inquiring, and I can tell, you DID look at my Smug Mug pics! That Cushman pictured in my album was taken at a Blanco, Texas car show. I really liked that Cushman, if for no other reason, than it reminded me of my VERY first set of TWO WHEELS! That would be a 1947 Cushman motorscooter, bought brand new at the Cushman dealer in July 1947. At that time, the Cushman dealership was part of the Harley dealership, which was owned and operated by a man named Eldon Beer. This dealership was located on west 6th street in Amarillo. (West 6th street WAS part of the fabled US Highway 66, which runs from Chicago to California.)

Back to the story of the Cushman. After I took the picture at the Blanco Car Show in May 2006, I decided to add some 'spice' to the picture, via Photo Shop. So other readers here will know what we are talking about, I am gonna post both before and after versions of that Cushman picture right here. Okay?

Here is the Cushman pictured BEFORE I got my Photo Shop 'paint gun' going:

Here is the Cushman picture AFTER I 'Photo Shopped' it:

I loved that Cushman, the one in these pictures, yes, but really THE ONE I owned in 1947! This seems incredible to ME, even, that that date is now just 4 months shy of 61 years ago!!! I do have a list of all the Two Wheeled vehicles which I have owned. And in a later post here, I promise to show that list to you all.

Thanks to all of you for humoring me with my trip down memory lane here.

Welcome to the site! You will fit in very well with our group, a decent bunch of riders that enjoy a clean, well run forum for our addiction.

Danny, thank you very much for your welcome here. I am myself amazed at the back-door way I stumbled into this forum. Thank you for making me feel welcomed.

I have a daughter who lives with her husband and family in Tyler, Texas, not far from you. If I am in your neighborhood, I will let you know. Okay?

Welcome to the group. It'll be harder to find a better group of enthusiasts just about anywhere. IM kinda jealous, Id love to do a ride on the PCH one of these days.

Howdy, welcome to TWT. I'd love to see a list of the bikes you've owned! Congrats on your new Yamaha.

Thanks for your interest. Before I list for you the bikes I have OWNED, let me list for you ALL the bikes I have ever ridden; INCLUDING the ones I owned. I have kept such a list, and of course, NOW I keep it via my computer, using Excel spreadsheet for data input and recording. I am going to try to copy the list here. It will NOT include all data fields, since no way could it be displayed here. But it should be possible to list the pertinent stuff. This list IS current, so it includes all the demo rides I just did 2 weeks ago at Daytona Bike Week 2008. The total number of rides I have listed here is 169. Here goes; keep your fingers crossed: I fully expect the formatting of my spreadsheet to be screwed up here some in the copying...but you can figure it out hopefully:

A little background info. Squeaky has developed a reputation of riding as many different bikes as possible. Someone gets a new bike, Squeaky wants to try it. I see her message paying homage from one person that has ridden quite a few bikes to someone that has DOCUMENTED an impressive list!

I am humbled in the presence of greatness! ;-)

I've thought about logging the bikes I've ridden, but it would be impossible to think back at which ones I've already been on - it could never be as complete a list as yours.

scooter78666

Yes sir, I did as you said and did look at a few of your Smug Mug photos. I'll have to go look a few more now. The second or third bike I ever rode was also a Cushman or an Allstate a friend had back in '67 or '68 so it was like a trip down memory lane to see a scooter of about the same vintage since his was an old ride that had seen many owners before his older brother bought it.

Like the others, I'm impressed with your list of bikes ridden. :hail:
