How hard it is to replace a screen on Bandit 1250? Some screens are super easy to replace, but doesn't looks like the case on a bandit.
Thanks! It's pretty straightforward and can be done relatively quickly once you get to do it a couple of times.
The main issue is not pushing too hard on the four screen screws as you start to insert them in place. Their receiving nuts (well-nuts) are a metal nut encased in a rubber grommet that then sits in the metal frame of the fairing. They use these wel-nuts to help dampen any vibration and to not have too rigid a mounting for the "flimsy" plastic screen. If you push too hard on the screws you can push the well-nut out of it's frame and it will fall into the depths of the inner fairing never to be seen again.
With a bit of contortion, masochism and the odd swear word you can get your finger behind these well-nuts to stop them pushing through, however as I mentioned previously, after changing screens a couple of times you get a feel for it and can then judge how much pressure to apply.
