Heard a rumor yesterday that Abernathy's Harley Davidson, Honda, and Polaris have lost their suppliers. Seems the Abernathy descendent who now owns the place posted an opinion about Black Lives Matter and all the recent violence and demonstrations and such that some complained of being racist. Builders pulled their products, apparently.

Yet another reason why I'd never by a Hardly.

Abernathy's ways of doing business are the reasons I've never bought a bike from them, even though they are were one of the busiest dealers in the U. S. of A. I've lived 15 miles away off and on since the early 1970s, and still only visit when I need a part can't get anywhere else. They pretty much have to order everything, and I can do that on line cheaper and quicker. The only dealership I have less use for is Honda/Yamaha in Paris TN, 45 minutes from home. Next nearest dealerships are an hour away, but I make the rides to support them unless I need something in a couple days, then on line rocks! The other near dealerships over the years have closed. King of Sports used to sell more Hondas than any other dealer in the world, but when the owner passed and the dealership was sold to the creep from Paris, 7 of 9 mechanics quite the business because of the new owner's reputation. Why and how that guy is still around, I don't know. That was back in the early 1970s.

Once upon a time you used to be able to have a opinion of you own in this country.
When did it go communist?

Occurring every time an election is held and a liberal is elected. At any level. But the Abernathy guy should have had the intelligence to make his opinion heard in a more thoughtful manner. The PC thought police are in control currently. Sad.

Oh you can still have an opinion.
But stating it may have consequences.

Guess political, religious and socially charged discussions never escalate into
the uglies side of social media then ???

EXACTLY! And that ALWAYS has a second edge. I used to be considered by my friends as that somewhat liberal from Colorado. But after so long of being told by many whose opinion is that I am the problem, my opinion isn't welcome, I will never understand my bias against any minority group, I have to admit that I have left the current liberal agenda of "make our country better by buying into every populus opinion!" The far left militance has pushed me away. However; I think I could still get behind many of the planks in the Democratic Platform from 1992. So I wonder, have I left them or have they left me?

They left you. My plank was in 1963. The last Dem I or our family voted for was JFK. Nothing but socialist/communist since. That includes a couple simple minded dreamers who didn't have any idea what they were.

... Nothing but socialist/communist since. ...

Not true. You forgot the minority purchase program. 55 years of "The Great Society" and racism and poverty are still as bad as ever. FDR's racist policies carried on, nothing more. JFK was no different, just another cog in the racist wheel.

Sorry to pop even more balloons, but that's the way things have really been all along. Books have been written, but largely remain mostly unread since most citizens like the fantasies they've been fed and won't seek the truth.

I guess maybe don't be racist?
What did he say? I didn't see it in the story. All I saw was his denial. What some have become in this country is a bunch of sniveling complaining lil' children if we don't get our way. Inclusion as long as you agree with me. HD is on the way out, I would think they would want to keep moving over priced product.

I am white! I am a racist. I am a man! I am a rapist. I have worked and earned a wage? I am living in privilege. It doesn't matter what I believe, this is what I am. I am guilty.

Because there were slaves. I am guilty. Because there have been unspeakable crimes against women and children. I am guilty. Because there is injustice. I am guilty. I am the proprietor of all evil in my society. Nothing good has come from who I am. Am I ready to receive my punishment? It must all be torn down.

This society is built on who I am. It must be torn down. Unpunished crimes have brought us to where we are. It must be torn down. Many, many have suffered and lost, never redeemed. It must all be torn down.

You are the victims, demanding justice, and it will be rebuilt in your imagine. Someday, may be far into the future, not knowing the path, you too will be guilty. Your statues will be torn down and demand for justice will erase you from history. But all that is inconsequential, now is your moment.

Good luck to the next generations!

Groups of uniformed minorities have already attacked Whites without legal cause on public streets. Law enforcement did not "protect" by choice, though the "choice" was blamed on others. Following orders to allow criminal behavior is the act of an accessory, even LEOs and politicians. Those whose job is to "protect" who do not do so deserve no respect, no matter who makes the choices or gives orders. Just a matter of time. Hopefully the onset of violence can be prevented if more people actually study and think before voting the next few months.

For instance, anyone else noticed the dozens of infrastructure works going on all over the nation, such as road, runway, and rail repair? Like it or not, President Trump at work doing his job. Entire overpasses are being torn down to the subsoil upon which the feet of the new supports stand and being totally replaced in a matter of weeks, not the years typical projects overseen by local officials (pocketing) usually take. Have you seen anything about the infrastructure upgrades on the leftist media liar channels? Didn't think so. That is why "study" is necessary, the Democrats' advertising staff simply doesn't say a word about what President Trump is REALLY doing.

As far as the sexual issues go, the year I was born, 15% of women never married, 19 years old, had sexual experience. 20 years later, when I was 19 years old, women my age included 75% who were sexually experienced, never married. Include those who married to avoid the consequences of sin instead of for the purpose of becoming one and the % of sexually experienced goes way up. So, were there 500% more rapes and the legal system did nothing about it? I think not. Best I can figure based on analyses of the records is 60% of women, minimum, decided to become whores. (Most men already were.) Therefore, it is the women's fault for the moral failures in the U. S. of A. through the 1960s and since. Of course, there were a few woman 19 years old who never succumbed to those temptations and avoided being victims of sexual assault, maybe 10-15% of the total, and those blessings are relatively rare.

By the way, can't blame the men for the change, men have generally always been immoral. Women's Liberation is little more than women now acting the way men have been for 40,000 years or more.

Tough truths to face, but if egos, self righteousness, and cowering are continued it will only get worse.

By the way, I'm not writing about politics or religion, but from the viewpoint of thoughtful paleoanthropological conclusions to sociopsychological observation of modern times, and analysis reaching the only logical conclusions that can be drawn from the facts. Yes, we generally ARE that nasty. Satan is well pleased.

I still think it is a shame about Abernathy's. Lots of folks from many states really liked doing business with them for several brands.

Back in the 2000s during the height of the cruiser craze, Harley demanded their dealers that were multi-branded build new facilities that were Harley only. I don’t know if this played into the issue with this location, but is just another example how they set a lot of dealerships up for failure.

Yes! Abernathy's Harley is on the north side of the street, Honda, Polaris, KTM, and used to be Yamaha on the south side of the street.

Note the ORVs and boats behind the Harley building. Odd?

Does this mean distributors pulled inventory or will the dealer have to sell what he has on hand? Interesting to see how this plays out. Obviously they will force him to sellout.

Or are you only focused on your Harley hate ? Typical

Guess all of them, sense they all pulled out, lol. If I didn't do business with every company that pissed me off somehow I'd be in dire straights.

Yeah agreed lol ! I did boycott Walmart for about 10 years. What changed it is how they stepped up the the plate for Texas during Hurricane Harvey. I'm not in there much but I don't avoid it.

My other post was that the guy distributed multiple brands, so when someone only attaches the bad behavior to one brand or really any brand it's pretty ignorant.
The guy was a distributor. Not the CEO of Harley Davidson Motor Company.
The MoCo handled it as they saw fit. They definitely didn't condone it
