2009 SUZUKI BANDIT 1250 FOOTRESTS OFFSET

I have a Bandit 1250 and the previous owner put aftermarket pegs on. Hard to explain but the offset is something I can't get accustomed to. When on the bike you have to turn your toes inwards on the bike to shift and brake. Looking at the parts list I can't tell if that is the way factory pegs are or not. Anyone with a Bandit ?

Hi Tim -

I’ve got at 1250S Bandit

I put a set of the Knight Design pegs on my bandit (1” lower), and they do cause some offset. Unavoidable because they are not coming straight off the Mount point. When researching and looking at pictures I could see that most cheaper lowering pegs caused even more offset.

Was able to adjust the height of the shifter and brake levers but still had to point my toe in to shift.

I ended up putting an extension on my shift knob so that I wouldn’t have to ride with my toes pointed in.

I’ll get some pics and post them up tomorrow - maybe in the meantime you could post pics of the type of aftermarket pegs you have on the bike.

Factory pegs do NOT cause this problem FYI. Maybe you can find a set online of you don’t want or need to lower them.
 
Here 2 pictures and you can see the offset. They are Knight Design foot pegs. I did see something where you can swap the rear for the front, not sure if it would work I have to check it out.

Here are some pics of the extension that Inout on my shifter. Been working great for about 4k miles now. I just cut off the rubber piece on the end of the shifter and wrapped that part in duct tape to make it the right width to fit the extension on. A little loctite on the set screws and no problems.

I cut the shifter off about one inch forward and made a bracket to bring the shifter about one inch higher than it normally is. I drilled 2 holes in the bracket I made and it worked out perfect. I could now get my foot under the shifter and it not feel awkward. I found this info on the UK bandit forum years ago.
