Well, another year has gone by and here we are…..the 4th Annual Sander desert run is upon us. It’s my second time out for this event, so I’m only 2 for 4. Wait, doesn’t that translate to batting a 500? Whoop Whoop!! Gave the 5Hundy some love to get ready for this little desert run.
It looks a bit like a basket case above, but it was just normal prep. Oil change, air filter cleaning, new sprockets/chain, checking things over, new rubber and threw on my larger desert tank, just in case I get froggy and branch out. Sometimes I get a little hippity hoppity.
Now for the load up/load out. I wanted to drive my diesel/haul my moto trailer with all my goodies, tools, spares etc. It’s a nice way to roll but I’m flying solo on this run so I figured why not trek out in my Tacoma. Wind was terrible and the little engine was crying, wishing I had the diesel today!!
Touchdown, Sander Desert HQ. Last year Orange was dominating, 5 KTMs and 2 Yamis. This year, KTM is the extreme minority, as in mine is the only one, sort of. Sander’s Red KTM, Craig’s YZX, Jim’s WR, Mark's YZX, Derrick's Sherco and Chad with a Husky.....well I guess that is a Blue KTM.
We grabbed some dinner in town and told riding lies and discussed tomorrow’s plan. Normal dirt dude shenanigans. Took a pic on the run of this church lit up.
Nighty night, smell yall tomorrow!!!
