Hopefully, next year I'll be able to ride to this one.

Picked up my brand new Connie Friday night at 7pm. I had 80 miles on the odometer when I started the pie run with Kurt and Trey from Austin. What a test for the first day. Started out at 34 degrees and a beautiful sunrise, by the time we hit Rockdale, we hit a wall of drizzle and dense fog for the rest of the trip. My how I love my new heated grips and windshield. What a different ride than the V-strom. They were out of pie and there was not a lot of hanging out which has been mentioned, but I had a good time. The ride home was awesome, clear skies and nice and warm. Those roads through the tall pine trees sure are pretty. Hit 74 degrees as we got closer to Austin. Averaged about 42 mpg for the trip. About 350 miles for the day. I ordered some risers and wedges and grip puppies which should make my riding position much more comfortable.

:tab Sorry I missed the last pie run officially organized by Chuck. A big thanks to Leon for doing the plaque to let Chuck know how much we appreciate his efforts the last few years! :thumb: Thanks Chuck!

I did a head count when it appeared the place was full and counted 86 and more came in after that so I'm sure we broke the 90 person mark.

We talked to one of the ladies serving us and they were sure appreciative that we made the last day of a year a good one for them!!

I was a great ride up and back for a total of 315 miles and a fine way to end 2011..

The Infamous Pie
Pie.jpg

My bride and I stayed at the Warfield House B&B Saturday night, ate at Tchoupitoulas (chop' a tou' las) and attended the Camp Street Cafe open mic night with the David Crockett Dulcimers. Who knew that Crockett was the cultural center for East Texas???
